This bulb holder works well for my gecko's terrarium! It is hot to touch though, so let it cool before grabbing it! Very happy, item works great and the metal bracket helps also!

Few months in and very reliable on a timer.
The front and back halves of the socket come apart, and then you just have to detach the wires, pull the bracket off, and reassemble.
So zero issue spreading the two apart and covering one side for my uro.

Dont know what people are talking about when they say it cant be dimmed ive got one of mine plugged into this dimmer and change the light intensity all the time
