Pros & Cons
Pros
The caribbean blue color is a nice sky blue grading into darker navy. The only downside to the pan is that it is very heavy, but that's to be expected since it's cast iron. This has the good quality i expect from the lodge brand!
Very versatile stovetop to oven, up o 500°. Cooks very well and evenly and looks beautiful on my stovetop. Size is perfect for cooking paellas or casserole.
Easy to clean, even heat, takes a casserole or a stirfry or a simmering curry or bacon and eggs. The enamel cleans up easily.
Cons
The item was mailed via usps without any padding or protection whatsoever. It is not returnable. Returned for refund.
Cooks fine but upkeep is so exhausting and it looks so cruddy after only a year i regret buying it. This time when the package was received the unusual thing is that now it was received in a similar sized box that had all the lodge logo and writing on... Read More
Highlights
Quality
With the lodge quality, i am positive it will last for generations.
After 14+yrs of casseroles & braised dinners this is still going strong.
There is some discoloration in the bottom of the pan, that has not effected the performance at all.
It works as designed and is very useful in some dishes i cook.
Price
I've heard of premium cookware before but their prices are way beyond my means.
They have performed perfectly toojust fyi i never take any kind of promo, discount or kick- back for any of my reviews.
The higher-priced one may be better, but not at that asking price.
Less then half the price and it's finish is flawless.
Shipping
I told him to be on the lookout for the amazon delivery, shared the tracking and spilled the beans on what it was.
Competitiveness
Add to all that, the very reasonable price point compared to other brands, and i'm a total fan!
I looked into enameled braisers and came across the top french brands: le creuset and staub.
Absolutely no reason to spend more on another brand.
I chose it over the similar le creuset product because of price/value, but the one thing i like about the le creuset version is... Read More
