Yes, copper shielding tape is more of the standard for that kind of thing, but this tape was much cheaper and got the job done.

I ordered it because i have hot blower terahertz wand that has an issue around two of its pieces and i saw many people were using this kind of tape to keep the pieces secure

The adhesive is really strong and the backing was easy to peel

In one case the switch volume and tone pots and the output jack were all mounted on the pickguard with no shielding leading to some small but noticeable hum

The other case was where a bridge was grounded via a small wire touching the bridge posts and the control plate and using the vibrato could cause it to come ungrounded
