Pros
Sticky, grippy and lasts for a long time. Adhesion lessens the further its stretched, but this is the best product i've used to protect my mountain bike from chain slap.

It is expensive, but worth the money.
It is pretty pricey though and do not go very far.
Competitiveness
Tried other brands: all still leaked past tape.
We tried several cheaper rubber mastic tapes in our antenna and cable jobs, but only use the2228 now.

Turn of water pressure wrap 2 times around dried pipe and tighten down a stainless hose clamp really really tight

In the electrical field we would cover this mastic with a harder shiny tape like super 33 or 88 to protect from shearing forces

After tightly wrapping with the 3m tape i then wrapped my connections in electrical tape

The tape goes a lot further than you may think as when you wrap it you stretch it out and overlap the pieces
