Pros & Cons
Pros
It's a much cheaper and lighter alternative to the name-brand footprints that the tent manufacturers pair up with their tents. My only gripe is that the price seemed just a tad high when i purchased it. Works great and is so much lighter than the stan... Read More
Tyvek 43gsm 1443r kitemaking material is a perfect choice for a lightweight, compact, easy-to-pack groundsheet. It's a little easier and slimmer to fold up and stow in a pack. This gage of material is also this enough to be easy to handle.
This particular fabric is soft and doesnt exhibit the bad crackling noises that you get when you buy normal, heavier-gauge housewrap. If you run it through the washing machine, it softens up and has very little crinkle sound.
Cons
It is a very light weight wrinkled fabric. Is not thick enough to be used for a tent footprint. One side is smooth and water resistant, the other side has a cloth-like quality to it that retains moisture and debris.
