Pros & Cons

Update Pros and Cons

Pros

Noise blocking is slightly reduced from the denser foam 3m plugs similar to this. They make the world get a whole lot quieter. Noise cancellation is decent, up to par or better than some other noise cancellation earplugs. Super comfortable cancel out ...  Read More

These ear plugs are by far my favorite ear plugs on the market right now. They stay in all night, which is another thing other ear plugs couldn't do for me. I prefer these earplugs over the other 3m nrr 29 ear plugs that are cylindrical shaped and com...  Read More

These are a softer type of foam, so they are better for smaller ear canals. They mash down smaller and take longer to expand. Conforms to my ears perfectly.

This one is superior in comfort and the whole sponge mechanics. The soft foam of these 3m are the best. I think they are more comfortable than the moldex 6800 pura-fit.

Cons

It looks like the latest 2016 batches are poorly formulated or simply manufactured improperly. On the bottom of the box it shows 15:43 and directly below that number shows a date of 5/19/22 which i am going to presume is an actual expiration date.

M has shrunk the product to the point that it doesn't work. These plugs are shorter than others i've used. Although this box of 3m ear plugs was a good deal, it's worthless if they're not effective because it's an old batch.

Quality

This is my favorite "style" with the tapered ends.

Packaging/appearance

Individual packaging of each pair is very handy.

The laser lite's seem very hit or miss on what sort of packaging you'll receive.

I like to grab a pack of a pair of earplugs for overnight trips so the lack of paired packaging was a disappointment.

Competitiveness

At 33db of noise reduction rating (nrr) these are great!

A lot quieter than normal nrr 32.
