It works really well for masking in single layers but i needed to create a dashed boarder on a piece of furniture for sprayed acrylic water based enamel and so i crossed a layer of tape perpendicular to the first layer and paint leaked underneath at the point where the two tape layers crossed each other

In some spots it didnt leak so perhaps with a more thorough job of burnishing it would seal better but i wouldnt count on it for an application that was very important and had to come out right without the need to remove excess paint that has leaked

Tack is strong enough to keep out moisture but not so strong that it’ll mess up a surface i wouldn’t use on some papers

Of all the tapes ive tried this one is best for alcohol ink on synthetic paper
