Pros
Quiet (no hum), with plenty of volume. Sometimes has a low ground loop hum, but reseeding cables will cure the issue.
This is the perfect adapter for guests who want their own microphone. It has nice rubberized feet that keeps it on your desk. I use this with my portable recording setup and it’s small size makes it the perfect choice.

This is the only item on amazon that i have ever returned. Didn't like being solicited for a review - but doing so to get a free microphone. The pyle ray-1000 power supply always dies.
At higher levels it completely farts out and sounds horrible. Too much static in the headphones. I was unimpressed.
Money will solve the issue. Not the tool for the job. Would not recommend.

This is well made and works great.
It is simple to use and the construction is strong so it will last a long time with care.
Power light not bright and annoying now.
You may want to power this off when not in use if it is in a dark room that you do not want illuminated in a weird blue hue.
Price
This is the most cost effective fix.
I highly recommend it, for the price it is a no brainer to have this in your podcasting toolbox.
So, while you could buy one cheaper, there is no justification for spending more.
This doesn't affect the operation, though, so it's pretty good for the price!

You can pay a buck or two more to get the behringer and it will do the same exact thing.
I own four units of this kind, from different brands.
You can buy one cheaper from a no name brand.
