Since getting a ps5 which doesnt have direct optical out to my surround sound i had to use optical out from the samsung tv which had a slight audio delay along with using a streaming device which also didnt have a direct optical out i had to accept the audio delay and constantly adjust it depending on the app amazon prime video being the worst

Runs high data rates i managed to push 90hz 3440x1440 and it didnt struggle so id imagine its probably capable of 60hz 4k perhaps more

The whole point of the cable to my understanding is to provide a place other than where the device lives so you can use the remote when it is behind the tv etc
