A while back i looked very closely at a number of different off brand nibs i had accumulated and i compared them to the original nibs, and the difference is so tiny, but if you look right at the very tip of an original nib you will see that it appears to be a slightly different material than the rest of the nib, which i think is really the key for why they work so well.  Read Less
