The backing is adhesive on top of a thin layer of foam, which dampens the sound of clicking of magnets and maybe compensates for slight inconsistencies in the surface so they adhere well. It's super convenient and doesn't clutter the house. The adhesi... Read More

These magnetic strips work well in the hallway at school which experiences wide temperature fluctuations and varying humidity. They hold my magnetic spice jars nice and tight.

Cons

Each metal strip has a hole on either end for screws, no mounting hardware can with this set just sticky material covering almost the entire width and length. It seems like really cheap material that has a magnetic mark on it.
