While there is no doubt this 60 day lantern is capable of emitting light for 60 days it is not a practical measure of the usefulness of the lights output

The lantern ran 247 for 7 and a half days for full endurance before the light output fell off to a point where the light was only moderate at two feet outside the globe

Since that time there are two brighter 6 d cell led lanterns which came out on the market
