Look, they are plastic, so after a couple years, they will probably become brittle and crack and need to be replaced.
Price
But they have saved me probably $150-$200 in just the past year in not having to buy new tubes for every job.

I use construction adhesive to glue masonry wooden building materials and sometimes glue tile back on

I have tried dozens of different caps over the years and i’ve tried a new handful here in the past year or so and nothing works like the homax caulkeeper

I currently have them in my silicone tubes white and clear and i haven’t used the white silicone in probably 2 months and i pulled the caulkeeper cap off this past week when repairing some exterior door trim and squeezed a bead of silicone just as though i had just opened the tube fresh

If you know silicone then you know just a little bit of air leakage will cause a tube to set up and harder even overnight
