Ive tried it with one 18650 and 2 in series and although i didnt measure the distance of the arcs i couldnt tell any difference

If you plan on keeping it energized like for a bug zapper you will need to add a hinksink and fan

It’s not actually that voltage it’s more like 1040kv but worked for what i needed
