Pros & Cons
Pros
This controller feels and responds great. One slight nitpick. It compares to the ps4 controller just a little bit slimmer on the handles. A little heavier than the sn30 pro+, but not uncomfortable heavy.
The included cable is usb-c to a so you can plug it into your computer for wired connection. It connects to bluetooth on my windows 11 os, ezpz; no issues there. Only real downside is no nfc and inability to wake the switch with the controller.
Cons
The sensitivity of the d-pad is so sensitive that just touching it will cause it to swap profiles and disconnect. It's possible i did it wrong, but the issue behind that is a switch to swap between the modes for the controller. Support is abysmal, onl... Read More
The controllers are undeniably subpar. The most egregious issue is the lack of hall effect sticks. I expect for these kinds of issues to be sorted out before it hitting the market.
Using it in switch controller mode disables analog triggers. Turbo mode toggles seemingly at random while playing action games. It's probably some * obscure setting you can toggle in their mobile app.
Highlights
Quality
It feels good and has good build quality.
The textured plastic feels nice and is durable.
Noisy, and it rubs on the rim/edges of the shell surrounding it, sometimes making squeaks and creaks.
Worked for like 1 week then the battery didn't hold up its charge for 1 minutes.
Price
I bought the alps version from amazon renewed at $25 used - very good condition.
Buy with confidence, this controller is worth every penny regardless of analog stick style you choose.
You'll get about 20 hours of life out of the battery, and for around 6 bucks on amazon you can get a spare.
At first i didnt liked the design but a lotta people said it great choice for its price.
Shipping
Would be five stars if it arrived without the misalignment.
Packaging/appearance
The pack that is included is very good.
Competitiveness
Regardless, that's a nintendo and microsoft problem having to be different, not 8bitdo's.
The d-pad isn't as smooth as nintendo or sega or sony d-pads.
Both the d-pad and the button array are rotated up and closer to the middle, in comparison to the ps4 controller, which would b... Read More
