Pros

These aren't cheap controllers compared to other offerings out there, but they're so much nicer.

The body is lightweight but solid. The size is perfect, at least for me and i have around medium sized hands. The controller is surprisingly small and yet fits very comfortably in the hands.

Cons

Bluetooth connections are continually questionable to the rpi. Firmware updating has not solved the lag. The steps they were having me take were repetitive and had nothing to do with the issue.

These are absolute garbage. It's shocking how absolutely appalling these are. I get that quality won't be as good as 1st party but this is pitiful.

Getting a refund and never trusting a controller from 8bitdo again. Unfortunately the one from three years ago is no longer usable as the battery completely stopped holding a charge.

Great price and paired with all my game devices.

8bitdo fits the bill for the 99th percentile of users.

If you want "great"; they cost around $250.

A simple cost-to-benefit ratio check and i can't personally justify the difference.

Tl;dr version: well made, performs on par or better than "oem" or name brand controllers; just buy it, 100% worth it.

8bitdo has become the top-tier of 3rd party controllers.

I've used the sn30 pros for more than a few years now, and i prefer this to any other controller for playing competitive smash online.

For comparison i recently modded my phat model ps2 to use a hdd and it has input lag, this seemingly doesnt from what i can tell.
