Pros

The 8bitdo holds two they are both the least expensive and the highest quality. The controller is a bit lighter weight. Cannot recommend enough and very fairly priced.

Plastics feels premium with a textured back. The texture on the grips form it in your hands. It also has gyro (motion) controls and all the * are easy to navigate.

The 8bitdo ultimate c controller has a d-pad that works as good as nintendo's official pro controller. It connects to raspberry pi 4 for gaming as a bluetooth game controller. Feels like an xbox controller and that's what i'm used to the most.

I have had many 8bitdo controllers and this is one is like the rest, very solid and is great when it is working.

The analog sticks are firm, the buttons are great, and it keeps its charge for a long, long time.

Any old school 2-d platformer or fighting game fan will tell you how important it is to press left and not also go up or down.

This controller can actually wake the system by powering on the controller and giving it a shake!

Absolutely a bargain at this price point.

Competitiveness

Compared to the broader market for switch controllers, simply having nothing wrong with it sets it well above most of the competition.

D-pad is squishy and better than the xbox core controller.

It's better than nintendo's own controller and it's half the price.

Not only is the d-pad more functional, but the joysticks are much more accurate than any of the nintendo licensed stuff at any price.
