I was under the assumption it was the same controller but discounted with the loss of the wireless capabilities.
The left side vibrations a little more intensely (like a “rumble pak”) while the right side feels a little “finer” like a cell phone.

My favorite thing on that controller is the d pad which is why i take a point away from this controller
