    Sure i get the moral dilemma they wanted to paint but the story in and of itself makes no sense

    In ancient times when this was done part of the point was community engagement and everyone participated even if the victim was already dead so the ceasing after one stone serves the purpose of laying all the blame on the main character but serves no purpose in the story
