Alert out of the box you must unscrew the dollar panel of the umbrella and then connect the umbrella wire to the switch wire in the pole

Set up was easy just attaching the bottom part of the pole and then the solar light panel on top

The solar panel seems to do a nice job as long as you keep it out in the sun and you can change out the battery if it ever goes bad
