I would definitely make sure the base is secured by filling the black bag that comes with the umbrella with heavy rocks.
The base however is not strong enough, even when the black bag that came with the unit is filled up with sand, it was far to light.

Was happy to have the nylon bag for the base weight.

The carton was delivered with an opened end and the fabric on the umbrella had a few dirty marks on it

We purchased a second base bag and filled it with sand too so that definitely helps to anchor it down but it should not be left opened up on windy days

However i got the black and white and within a couple of weeks it looks like white and grey
