Pros & Cons
Pros
The game itself sets 2-4 players as settlers of village in a new land after having been displaced by tragedy in their former home. Easy to learn and fun to play. Makes me think of dnd but minus the limitless options. Great mashup of seven wonders duel... Read More
The artwork and components are very good. Even with dark edges to some cards, the artwork is very enjoyable in this 'fantasy' game. The "choose your own adventure" aspect is brilliant.
My only qualm - why do my friends and i always get the special character stories on the last round! High replayability and so excited to have it in my collection. While it is not the deepest game, it just all comes together for a nice, relaxing game n... Read More
The rules are fairly simple to understand though i always go a little overboard and watch a few how to videos as well on any new game. The only flaw i see is it is a little short for my taste. The art is first rate and the game mechanics are pretty st... Read More
Highlights
Quality
This is a wonderful game with good art quality and the pieces are of good quality as well.
The art is first rate and the game mechanics are pretty straightforward.
The pieces are of good quality but be aware there are a ton of pieces!
It does take us (a family of 3) a solid 1 1/2 hours to play through but it is good quality family time.
Competitiveness
This helps to keep the gameplay lighthearted and less combative when competitive players are playing.

I know a few people have commented that after you play the game enough times you start to repeat some of the encounters but there is over 100 different encounters and each one has two or three options themselves so it would take quite a few plays before you had experience them all

I have not yet played “near and far” or “sleeping gods” so i can’t really compare it to them

This is not a cooperative game but you are just barely playing against the other players

Someone else may buy a character or building you are interested in but then new ones become available that you may like even better so the fact that someone else bought what you had your eye on is quickly forgotten

No one felt like they were “out of it” at any point
