4/5 for doing what i needed it to do, but being too gosh darn expensive.
Definitely too expensive for what it is though.
So overall, i spent less than $100 and got my data back, happy ending for a decent little product!

As a result, acasis sent me thermal pads and heat sink to resolve the problem.

The item included only one cable (c to a) that looks nothing like either of the two cables featured prominently in the pictures.

Although there were initial thermal problems with their unit since i had a samsung 1 tb apple ssd installed from my upgraded mid2015 1534 macbook pro mbp that apparently generated too much heat too quickly for their enclosure which caused premature shutdowns by their unit due to their designedin overtemperature protection for the ssd that would shut their unit down when a temperature limit was exceeded

Thus my use of their enclosure with my ssd is intermittent but when used involves intense data access and transfer use of their unit

I dont use it as an always on unit which would probably need additional external cooling to properly dissipate the accumulating heat that continuous use of the ssd would generate since there is no internal fan in the enclosure which i dont need to do

I had to remove the expensive 1tb owc aura pro x2 ssd from my 2013 2734 imac which had finally failed and i really needed to access the linux os and data which were on the drive

Of course there is no obvious recourse or solution to this problem thanks to amazons 34feature34 of forced compliance
