Pros & Cons
Pros
Since one must insert the tool between a breaker bar and the socket, it is a little difficult to use, but we got the hang of it. Tested against 2 different torque wrenches, a 1/2 in 250 ft-lb wrench and a 3/8 in 75ft-lb unit. The range and accuracy is... Read More
Absolutely genius. Works perfectly but you must follow directions that are in the manual.
Product has a wide range and has an alarm tone when the desired torque is reached. The audible warnings are easy to hear, and while you can go past your setting, it's relatively easy not to. Correct torque is extremely important so that you stretch th... Read More
Cons
When user set torque is near, the adapter beeps intermittently and then a steady beep is made when at torque. No audible or light to indicated your desired torque. Audible alert lowest setting is 14.
It is much quicker to use a standard torque wrench. This service costs about what the tool costs, so just after a year it has become a paperweight. Would not recommend, will stick with my click wrench.
After a year of very moderate use (used maybe 4 times) it now reads me an err message everytime it starts up. This de-calibrates the adapter. It is no longer anywhere close to accurate and needs to be sent in to be recalibrated. About 13 months after ... Read More
Highlights
Quality
This is a very useful and accurate torque adapter that has a lot of uses
Great, solid product, i also use it for calibrating my regular torque wrenches.
After one test with the 80 ft/lb stick, the buzzer stopped working and the warning lights only blinked blue erratically.
Any reviews that note the battery terminals don't contact the batteries probably only installed one out of two batteries.
Price
They were inexpensive and easy to install.
Good deal for what seems to be great quality.
An excel spread sheet table was a lot cheaper than sending the tool out.
00 snap on will do for a quarter of the price.
Shipping
I suspect the unit was shipped with stale coin cells.
The seller had earlier sent me instructions by e-mail on how to use it.
I even got an email ahead of delivery with instructions.
Packaging/appearance
The product arrived in excellent condition and included the two batteries needed to operate it.
Definitely a good tool to have comes with a nice protective case and is packaged very well only complaint or suggestion would b... Read More
I talked to the manufacturer to confirm this is by design, and packaging has just not been updated.
The packaging (and specs on the ad) report an operational range starting at 4 ft lbs (5 nm), and an alarm range starting at 15 ft lbs.
Competitiveness
If i need one of these that is calibrated for higher values, i will buy the same brand.
The delco adapter agreed quite closely with the 1/2 in wrench (within 1%) but only within 10% with the smaller 3/8 in unit (the... Read More
