Pros & Cons

Update Pros and Cons

Pros

It has two ways to make fine adjustments. Good price especially compared to pro-tec product. He now wears it every day and his knee no lnger bothers him.

New design has one end that passes through a plastic d-ring, then wraps back to fasten with velcro. Smaller strap allows you to cinch up the support pad after you have the main *. Strap tends to stay in place though a 30+ min run.

They never slip down. They are adjustable so you can get the right fit. I wish ace would make these in size small or xs/s.

Cons

The plastic ring digs into my skin. Also the rubbery pad is built in and not adjustable. It is indeed an ace knee strap, but there have been multiple versions of the ace strap in recent years.

Walgreens had the ace strap on a buy one get one free sale for about $20 and i decided to try them.

I have also started trying the mueller knee strap which i got at walmart for about $7 a piece and those also seem to work well also

Packaging/appearance

The box i received shows the knee sporting the new strap which has a smaller, black ace label.

Competitiveness

I bought this strap as i've had pain in my left knee since i've increases my running mileage recently.

I've tried several other similar straps, and have never had much success with them.

There are other brands of knee straps that fasten similarly, with one velcro-tipped end passed through a d-ring, and the design...  Read More
