Pros & Cons
Pros
Hz (duh) is a *huge* difference compared to 60fps. I believe i will be able to easily tell from from 200+ hz compared to 144hz.
Had it for 3 years paired with my gtx 1060. Bought this in 2017 and still using it with no real complaints.
Cons
You're not getting the 144hz advertised if your pc doesn't have vga or dvi inputs. This monitor only support 120 hz if you use a dvi to hdmi cable. At 144hz, the screen goes black and i have to unplug the dvi-dl cable every time.
The monitor has a tendency to just stop working out of the blue. The problem is that the monitor won't get a signal from the pc. I feel like my eyes are constantly being strained, and it actually hurts to use it for long stretches of time.
Received (and promptly returned) this item super quick. Never really been compelled to by a product, until now. Customer support isn't very helpful and they want me to pay shipping for their bad product to be checked out by their staff.
Even the paid shills rip on the fact that the colors aren't that good. Side angles distort the color. The screen is too bright.
Highlights
Quality
The graphic quality is great and i’m glad it’s mountable so i can purchase an arm to put it on my desk.
Picture quality, size, and brightness are perfect for a student.
Maybe it's cause i go from my macbook and imac to this, but the picture quality is pretty meh.
- the controls for the settings are not labeled on the front of the monitor---this can make fiddling with the settings confusing.
Price
Overall, it's a good price for a gaming monitor!
Shipping
No secondary box was used for shipping.
Competitiveness
I bought this a while ago as a budget 144hz option and it is still chugging along.
Overall: if you just want a 144hz monitor for a few games you can run 144hz; go for it if you're cheap like me.
I cannot get 144hz on my second one so i have to deal with 60hz on it.
So when building my pc 5 years ago i bought all my parts at microcenter.
