Pros & Cons
Pros
There are a few caveats to be aware of and this definitely isn't a premium laptop. After just adding storage and ram, it runs great, and my son is extremely happy and loves this computer. Easy to upgrade (8gb ssd total and 64gb ram), took me less than... Read More
The nitro 5 is well assembled and the hinge has been secure. It's recessed into the lid and there's a sizable plastic bezel around the edge. You do at least get a number of convenient ports built right in (headphone, usb 3.
Cons
Spent $150 on warranty or lose out on $700+. Won't turn on and won't charge, right out of the box! Have still not been reimbursed. Hopefully the madness ends when they receive the returned item and we get the purchase price refunded. Still probably go... Read More
I have to restart several times a day because windows loses my pin. And often then needs to restart. Screen flickers when playing mildly graphics-intensive games. In gaming mode, once the fans kick on, the battery life drops to somewhere between one a... Read More
The only way to expand the memory is to replace one or both of the installed ram with larger capacity ram sticks. Problem with replacing it with a larger m. Is that it has no hard drive.
Highlights
Quality
Plugged in extra storage👍 it’s cool and works like a higher quality laptop
Works great, loads, operates, and performs flawlessly.
Windows ran and i could even play a few games, but performance is throttled because the memory will be maxed out.
I really only have one problem with the laptop and it makes it a bad long term investment.
Price
At $950 this is a great performance laptop buy.
This is an amazing laptop for what you pay.
At $950 i had to take the chance on this laptop despite some of the reviews being bad.
So this is my experience, i say it was money well spent.
Shipping
It arrived quickly and was protectively packaged.
Arrived on time brand new in the box.
Competitiveness
The rtx 3050 is pretty dang capable and the 12th gen i5 processor is better than the 11th gen i7.
Only thing it does better than my maxed spec lenovo p50 thats 9 years old is run newer games.
I replaced an hp that held more ram, and you might have to move the screen to get the best picture, but the picture was better.
