Pros & Cons
Pros
As far as gaming laptops go - this one is pretty understated. It's a bit on the heavier side, but that’s expected in this budget range.
For casual gamers, or even dedicated gamers who play only a few games they know the performance profile of well, this is an excellent choice. The nvidia geforce rtx 4050 in a gaming laptop at this price point is the real winner here. Adding an additio... Read More
The build quality is good with no rattling. The design on the back is not too heavily branded and has a nice holographic like nitro symbol on it. The case the laptop came with is very attractive, branded with the nitro logo.
I love how the keyboard lights up. The glowing keys are extremely helpful when playing, as the neuropathy in my fingers makes playing by touch impossible. The keyboard is fine.
Cons
This laptop is an uncooperative disappointment. They want to charge $500 to fix it. And no, no remorse, not a care in the world.
Extremely anti-nitro key. The keyboard goes black every 30 sec. To me this laptop is useless.
This system has issues built into it in ways that boggle your bogs. Only ever was used on a table for its short life, mysteriously overheated and fried itself with no warning.
Highlights
Quality
The performance is fantastic—it handles all my games smoothly, and the graphics look amazing.
Powerful gaming machine with great memory and gpu which can run all modern games at max settings.
Battery last no time, has to be plugged in regularly.
Press the toggle button next to disable 30-second backlit keyboard timeout.
Price
For the price point, this laptop is a steal!
For a laptop priced at around 700 (when i bought it), this is an absolute deal.
I got it on sale but even without the sale i think it’s a great price for everything it is!
8gb ram is not enough, but adding another 8gb stick will only cost $20 so i'm not mad.
Packaging/appearance
It came with a laptop sleeve as well which i didn’t expect.
Competitiveness
I just bought the acer nitro 5, and it’s exceeded my expectations.
The specs and the price were a great match when i bought it.
But even those aren't deal breakers especially when you can manually turn down the fan speed in the settings.
It has an i5 cpu that scores 19,000 on passmark.
