The acer name brand means it is a bit better built than cheaper alternatives.
Then again, it is an acer, not a porsche, so if functionality is your concern (it should be) then you are good to go.

However i could unfortunately not get it to work with my steamdeck the steamdeck screen goes black but no signal is receivedshown on the monitor or tvs ive tried with it

That being said i think it could be an issue with power but at that point youre just better off getting a usbhdmi dock solution that allows you to also add power
