These allow you to take a mini optical cable end, and bring it up to fill size optical. It saves space and gives you a digital out without needing to use usb.
Cons
It’s clear that these things were not tested before packaging. I have no way of judging audio quality because they wouldn’t physically fit into anything.

What happened is that these people tried to use these adapters to convert a standard aux cable to optical

Once you have it in position and dont fiddle with it much things will work fine though
