Might have to do with the fact that the headphone input is slightly indented, therefore not able to get secure connection.

I use a fiio mont blanc for portable amp.
Using this with my hd600 w/ hd650 cable.
Like others have said, this is a good-quality cable, though it seems a bit expensive.
I do not like giving 5-star ratings: there can always be improvement.

The traditional ones that end up looking like you have a pipe sticking out of your phone or device tent to wreck your audio jack and are not comfortable to use

An adapter does come with the package but it makes both the length and weight quite undesirable and may cause undue internal stress at the site of the port
