I have so much stored on it now it will be a huge inconvenience to go back and reformat it since that process erases all the stored data

The usb output jack connection is a bit weak

I had previously used a wd external drive that required a separate power connection as well and one day the cat knocked it off the table and it does not work anymore

I also have had experience with ssd drives which are faster however the adata drives are no slouch and for the intended purpose of backups a little extra speed is not an issue and certainly not worth the sizable extra cost
