Pros & Cons
Pros
New balance, rockport, etc. Grip from the continental rubber is good and looks great. They're waterproof lightweight breathable i hiked. Excellent traction, great fit and flexibility.
In my opinion these shoes are built to accommodate a thicker sock. This version has conventional laces which are slightly more trouble than the old quick laces but more reliable when tight.
Even the 9 is slightly roomier than the 9. Normally an 11 is generous for my foot. I'm a size 14 & they fit true to size.
The new ones have a removable insole i guess. I can tell they're glued down but they should come out easy enough. They are roomy but not too much.
Cons
This version of the adidas ax4 is not gore-tex although this reseller is advertising as being so. Waterproofness is of paramount importance and this shoe isn't even remotely water resistant.
Highlights
Quality
I wasn’t expecting this level of quality and am ecstatic at how solid they’ve been so far.
Great quality , sturdy and last a while.
They seemed lightweight and when pulled tight could hear them being strained.
I had a pair of mid high shoes like these and i i wore through the the rubber and into the foam midsole.
Price
At under $90, very happy with these.
Awesome bargain almost half price, so i can afford better laces.
Got these when they were on sale for $60 roughly.
I've never been a huge fan of adidas but for the price i figured it was worth a shot.
Shipping
I shipped internationally so exchange is kind of out of the question, but if i were in the us, i would definitely exchange for a 11 wide.
Competitiveness
I need shoes that can hold up and these have proven to be better than the columbia or merrell's i used to purchase.
I like these better than any nike, brooks or new balance shoes that i have ever worn!
Other brands of hiking shoes like merrell cost considerably more, so we'll see how these hold up.
I used to wear boots but i've been trying out various brands of goretex sneakers over the last few years.
