If you go to a tournament and your competitor does not have the turtle shell style chest guard but is wearing the foam style then you will most likely lose unless you completely dominate the match

Good protection but the lower part that reaches towards the groin restricts you from doing high kicks so buy a size down to compensate the strings on the back will easily reach trust
