In fact, i prefer this to the gamepad that comes with the wiiu.
My boys are very happy with this.
It functions identically with the nintendo version while also looking better and being cheaper.
Good quality replacement for the wii u pro controller, but it is slightly smaller than the nintendo version.

Rubber on the thumbstick started coming off after extensive use.

The differences the new version is a bit larger overall the circuitboard is nearblack instead of blue there are a couple less leds theres no more usb port because theres no longer a rechargeable battery 2 aas are used instead there are no vibration feedback motors and the button to turn the leds onoff moved to the underside of the controller which frankly seems strange and inconvenient

But buyers should beware that any reviews mentioning a rechargeable battery usb cable and vibration are for the previous model which will probably not be what you get at this point

Lastly the controller sometimes when turned on it will read as moving to the left constantly and must be reconnected to fix the problem

Which is just as well as my son likes the pad and actually uses it to play meaning not our 40 lcd monitor
