Pros & Cons
Pros
Ez drummer ii is a good alternative to an expensive drummer's throne. It also has a built-in amp, which is a plus.
I'm not a complete beginner, but this is almost a perfect kit for beginners who are looking for something electronic. It comes with many options for customization.
I have well over a thousand into the whole thing at this point, and it's totally worth it. My answer without hesitation is yes! Other than that, wonderful kit. Only 2 small complaints.
Emt is steel and weldable, so i fabricated an 'h' for the front legs, and upside-down t's for the side ones. Solves height issue perfect. Hi-hat pedal isn't as touchy as the rest of the kit.
Cons
In august of this year, there was a problem with one of the pads. Thats when it responds at all. It is not okay that i was sent worthless junk.
The sounds are bad, especially the toms and cymbals. The snare drum is hard to hear and the pads on all the drums are so low that oftentimes you will hit the rim.
Highlights
Quality
We plugged the drum set into some speakers we had and the sound quality is great.
Easy to install, responsive pads, solid overall.
The sound quality is awful when a regular 20watt speaker is connected via aux cable.
Bass drum sounds extremely tinny through headphones, to the point where i wondered if it was even working, but the control modu... Read More
Price
This is a great kit for the money!
Despite these mostly minor issues, i would still recommend for anyone looking for an affordable set to get into drumming.
For the price it is a good practice or beginner drum set.
If you're a beginner or just looking for an inexpensive kit for an apartment, this is a solid buy (but make sure to buy a thron... Read More
Packaging/appearance
This was a replacement set that i got from another manufacturer and that one was missing pieces and packaged very bad.
Everything is packaged so good and it took me less that a hour to assemble.
Competitiveness
The sounds are good enough and comparable to a music-maker software, such as fruity loops.
I was skeptical at first that this wouldn't be as good as my old simmons set, but it is just as good!
So i have the alesis kick wired to the yamaha and a female mono to male stereo adapter connecting the yamaha to the alesis module.
Still, none of these are deal breakers.
