Pros
Backlight is beautiful and can be customized with the alien fx software. Programmable/macro * on the side make them easy to distinguish and press. Works as intended very nice looking and decent key spacing.
As a software developer, a good keyboard is everything. It feels like a mechanical keyboard, but a tad softer and not as loud.
Cons
Cures nub * cancer-not useful against. Antighosting is a joke on this keyboard. Wrist rest is also very flimsy plastic. This keyboard ate my homework, i swear doe.
Lighting is okay, but the software is simply lackluster. Wish they would have put those alien macro keys somewhere else. If you're going to play any games that requires you to press a lot of * this is not the keyboard for you.

Price
Couldn't find any advanced, lighted keyboards at a reasonable price until i saw this one.
Competitiveness
The alienware is soft, responsive, quiet, and places a lot less strain on the fingers than the louder clacky keyboards.
One of the cheaper gaming keyboards out on the market.

For one the alienware head in the middle of the media buttons at the top is not a button like the one on my laptop is so i still have to open my laptop when i want to boot it up after a shutdown

The media buttons also dont include an eject button like the integrated strip on my laptop but that more an inconvenience than a hindrance as the head button is

However they seem prone to ghosting as there have been many times ive hit one and it doubles the command leading paused music to spontaneously restart a minute or two after pausing it or a fast forward skipping a second track

Note 2 usb ports are required to make this keyboard work

One for light power and the other for key commands but you have to plug both in or it will not work at all

The hotkeys are nicely located for quick finger strokes without moving my hand a lot but they are limited in programming

I tried to make them do a ctrl command and it would do a regular number first time i hit it and the ctrl command the second time i hit it not what i wanted and cant figure out a way to make it work other than leaving it at the number and hitting ctrl myself
