Pros & Cons
Pros
Sturdy, attractive, all-clad. Copper core works great on my induction cooktop. Lifetime quality of the heavy stainless steel & construction is unsurpassed. It performs marvelously!
The steamer fits that snugly on every pot i use it on. I like the redesign of the steamer insert because it will fit a variety of sauce pans.
It heats really fast and steams broccoli, green beans, carrots, etc. The food steams fast and furious and wonderfully--much better than with the old collapsible type steamer i used with my former calphalon.
Go for it. That's what i did and i have no regrets. Great value imho. Definitely worth the price.
The finish is flawless. Will work for my three person family. Works beautifully. I'm happy to report that this one is fantastic.
Cons
I was dissappointed with this steamer. It is not of the same quality as the usa manufactured all-clad cookware. Food can only be placed toward the bottom center of the steamer over the steam holes to prevent scorching.
Highlights
Quality
Quality is as expected of all clad.
It may be made in china, but the quality suits me just fine.
With the fold ups, the legs are only about and inch from the bottom so i would often burn the bottom of the pan if the water boiled away.
Just so everyone knows, it does not fit the 3-qt.
Competitiveness
Fits on so many of our all-clad pots.
Fits and works well with my all-clad saucepan.
Steam does not come out of the sides so i only have to use a small amount of water to steam a full pot of vegs.
If you aren't concerned with buying made in america (and i'm not sure that this is made in the usa vs.
