Pros & Cons
Pros
Waffle maker has a back drip tray to catch overflow and the waffles coming out perfect. Clean up is a breeze because it really doesn't get dirty. The whole unit heats up, save the handle.
Nonstick coating releases the waffles easily. The seltzer seems to work great. It's completely repairable.
Best way to get crispy waffles is to use sparkling water instead of regular water or milk. I personally find '5' to be my favorite setting for a balance of crispness and fluffiness. Setting 6 provided the best waffles—golden brown and crisp.
Cons
This is not a cheap appliance. They are not allowed to test the waffle maker with waffle batter because of sanitary issues. There is also a slot on the rear for overflow of excess batter, but it makes it so you cannot make 4 perfect waffles.
Waffles were undercooked at the highest heat setting. Hot areas and undercooked areas really tastes bad. Maybe there are people out there that like tall crunchy * waffles but that is not me.
Following up to see if i could obtain replacement parts or a place to have it repaired resulted in a futile effort - there are neither. The company does nothing to help until your warranty runs out. This is probably why the unit stops working for many... Read More
Don't let the positive reputation for cookware lead you to believe everything they make is high-quality. Eventually i bought a cuisinart flip round waffle and like is much better, here's why.
It’s a fantastic waffle maker… while it works. Just quit. Tried again and the waffles were burnt and smoking with in 30 seconds.
Highlights
Quality
This waffle maker is sturdy, well thought out and easy to use.
Heavy duty, well made as well nice design.
The drip tray actually feels like an afterthought in what would have otherwise been a brilliant design.
It’s fiddly, hard to place correctly and does a poor job with bigger spills.
Price
This one is so worth the price tag.
Expensive, heavy and a great waffle maker.
What a shame, because there is much to like about this pricey unit.
The only thing that this is missing is removable plates, which i didn't want to spend the extra $100.
Shipping
I’d been craving waffles for a few weeks & made a batch right away when this arrived!

Competitiveness
Although a bit more expensive than most of the other waffle makers out there, this is a real heavy duty quick and easy waffle maker.
I think their long-time experience in electronic appliances will equate to beating out the all clad.
I've used many different brands of waffle makers.
I also felt a bit odd buying an electric appliance from all-clad, a company who isn't well-known for appliances, but makes fant... Read More
