Yes it's a little on the pricey side, but it's built to last. It's all top notch quality cookware that will last a lifetime. The only downside is the high price.
I love cooking with this pan as much as my oldies. All-clad's 4. D5 universal pan is a gorgeous piece. The finish is beautifully polished.
Heavy bottom keeps them from scorching. Wide top enables quick evaporation. Lid fits snug on the pan too.

The pan though could be a bit more lightweight, but overall it is a great piece to have in the kitchen and works nicely.
It is large enough to easily feed 4-8ppl with ease however not nearly as heavy as you'd expect or of that of your dutch oven.
