Pros & Cons
Pros
All-clad is a luxury brand of cooking ware for a reason. It's important to use enough oil, per the instructions, and also not to cook at too high a heat--the instructions advise you to lower the heat after initially heating up the pan.
Bottomline, it is a good but less than great skillet. One that can go from rangetop to oven without any trepidation.
It heats evenly and quickly. It gets warm, though not unbearably so. It is dishwasher safe.
Clean up is a breeze. It cleans up easily. It also has a nicely beveled edge which makes pouring easy.
Next dish, pan seared steak with a sweet rosemary, cracked black pepper, and red wine reduction sauce. It's also oven and broiler safe up to 500 degrees f. This makes it especially good for whisking sauces- i've been in the market to buy a saucier.

Competitiveness
I've had a set of all-clad cookware for at least three decades, and it's in a class by itself, imo--beautifully made, robust and versatile.
Highly recommended for those who are looking for super high-quality cookware that should last for years to come.
Competitors in the similar price range include le creuset, staub and calaphon.
