It takes two hands to turn it on push and hold the top button while pushing the power button to start it up if you let go of the power button it does not lock right away

If you don’t use the unit for 30 seconds it will automatically relock so you don’t accidentally turn it on with the side button

The instructions say to wash the wand and to avoid getting water in the shaft but the same instructions also say that it is dishwasher safe so that part is a little confusing
