For such a small footprint, the sound quality is amazing. The voice recognition is a convenient added perk. The sound quality of the speaker is quite good and exceeded my expectations. Echo second generation smart speaker is a very versatile device.

Get addition to my entertainment schedule. She tells me the time, the weather, reminds me of appointments and tells me when it is time for lunch.

I am a software engineer myself and cannot imagine how amazon could be unaware of the problems. Amazon has every right to set their prices as they see fit. Unfortunately the dot is way better and cheaper. Do not buy.
