Ignore the instructions that state the chime has to be close to your router

You need the chime near the doorbell for it to pair initially then you can plug it in wherever you want

I was able to connect easily but found that my doorbell and this device kept showing as being offline whenever i chose the chime network

As i only purchased the chime pro for the extender feature i have returned it and purchased the basic chime which is just a chime device with no extender feature

You need to make sure you have strong wifi or that you can situate the chime box near your wifi modem
