I enjoyed that this narrative of compounding unfortunate circumstances used familiar elements from the classic cinderella story to craft a new rendition of it using ingenuity and cleverness to bring a woman from rags to riches instead of a fairy godmother

Agnes is determined clever sympathetic and ultimately loving in other words she is fully threedimensional in a time and place which did very little to encourage or support women at all
