Pros & Cons

Pros

The casting on each half seems a little rough and is covered with what the seller says is a 12-stage coating process. This thing is sturdy and rolls smooth even when covered in mud.

A 1/2 uhmwpe winch line (aka spectra or dyneema) has a maybe ~15t mbs and a ~5t wll. This is pretty much what you want a * block to be.

It weighs in at six pounds which is commensurate with others i use. The box says it has a 79,300lb max strength, which is just ridiculously strong. When picking up something like this you want something that feels heavy and is not going to give out on...  Read More

Quality

Seems well built, it rotates freely, no sharp edges and minimal gap between the sheave and the body.

Nice product, seems really well built and heavy duty.

No sharp edges, rust, or other defects.

I am unaware of any 1/2" cable or rope with a minimum breaking strength (mbs) that will even come close to their claimed workin...  Read More

Price

Decent price and will try out right away.

Shipping

Have not used yet, hope i don't fast delivery.

It is shipped dry, so be sure to prep it before use.

Packaging/appearance

This was safer than me hanging onto a large christmas tree tote as i straddle it down an attic ladder.

In this case, i didn't know what wll they claimed until i received the box.

The pulley came packaged in a sturdy box lined with foam.

Well, at least the box is mostly consistent with the 18t claim.

Competitiveness

)pros:- the wll on this block is 3t better than the mbs of the best 1/2" winch line i can find (dyneema).

This thing is half the size of my name brand snatch block, weights more, and has the same capacity.
