Pros & Cons
Pros
The tread is great for hiking on trails, and provided great traction scrambling around strawberry mountain in oregon, as well as puttering around on trails in mt haleakala. Have escalante for walking and everyday use.
This shoe is very light and comfortable. The only downside is that it is inconvenient to wear it off when i tie it.
First time altra costumer. After my first pair if altra, i'm hooked. This version 3. Shoelace function first.
Right out of the box on to my feet. Snug through out the shoe with a roomy toe box. Really like the roomytoe area.
There is a lot of bouyant padding that makes it feel like you're bouncing when you run. The sole, now thicker, feels like you are higher off the trail, like the lone peaks do. I like that altras have more cushioning than merrill footgloves.
Cons
These are foot shaped shoes, but only in the width of the forefoot. The shoe iteself is massively less flexible but the real problem is that the top of the shoe digs into my big toe as i run.

I have lived in 100 keens for years due to the wide toe box but have been looking for other options due to keens lack of durability which is stupid for an outdoor shoe company
