Pros

The most comfortable shoes i have ever worn. They fit my size 15 great and have excellent grip on sandy rocks. Super comfy and enough cushion without feel mushy.

Great feel on the foot, lightweight, wide toe box and overall great feel. Altra's extra toe room and the zero heel elevation helps me prevent painful shin splints. The extremely soft and led to very quick issues in my heel and achilles tendon.

Cons

Most shoes i believe average 8-12 mm drop from heal to toe and these are zero drop. Heel counter considerably higher - irritates back of heel- larger than predecessor.

Absolutely hate this shoe. This shoe is rubbish. The only resemblance to previous lone peaks is the name. Frustrating that a trail runner is not made for the trail.

I couldn't be happier with the purchase.

I'm very impressed with the trail claw tread.

My lower back isn’t the best and i usually get some discomfort when i run and even more so after, not with the altra’s.

So i’m going to go ahead and say if you sometimes are one size and sometimes a half higher, then go with the sometimes lower.

Packaging/appearance

Very comfortable right out of the box.

We'll see how well these hold up over time, but i am definitely impressed with how good they felt right out of the box.

I would not consider a different manufacturer.

I realized at the last minute that my trail runners i was going to wear for the spartan weren't going to make it.
