Pros & Cons
Pros
The timp is one of the best shoes for trail running and hiking i have tried yet. It has a slightly less aggressive tread, but after testing i happy with it. These make my last few brands of trail shoes look like normal road shoes on the loose mud.
The timp is a light weight, comfy, roomy, modestly cushioned shoe. The extra cushioning from the timps seem to help with that.
Durability seems good. Only downfall is short lasting platform.
Because my toes have room to spread out, i feel like i have better stability and am less tippy. Also when hiking my toes arent slamming into the toebox anymore. These shoes alleviate that pain and allow my foot to work in a more natural position.
The shoes fit true to size and have a lot of toe room and forefoot room. The toe box feels a little bit wider (perfect for my hobbit feet) i really like the laces and the ladder going up the tongue to keep laces where they belong.
Cons
Red foam now has zero thickness. The squishy sole literally breaks down in 25 miles. Altra support suggests you go shopping for some other insoles that fit.
Highlights
Quality
I read about quality issues but so far i have not experienced any problems or concerns.
And for some reason, i also have better feel for the trail with the lone peak.
I'll fix that with some shoe goo or something, and that's a quality issue, so dropped a star for that.
Bought with the intention to hike with them but i've been wearing them around town.
Packaging/appearance
Also when hiking my toes arent slamming into the toebox anymore causing all kinds of discomfort.
All of that went away when i tried the timp.

Only worn the shoe for a few miles on the treadmill but will be trying them out on the trail soon and will update review but the right shoe feels like it bends slightly different and feels slightly off

The reason for the 4 star rating is that the sole on one shoe appears to not have been glued on entirely and the back of the sole is separated from the shoe
