Hopefully i can relace through the holes in the leather and avoid the cloth strap

I put on the left shoe and did not have the same problem but i’m concerned that this is a defect and that the strap will break over time

Slid my right foot into the shoe and when i tightened the laces the middle strap that the lace pulls through broke free
